Continuing Education and Service
Since my research focuses on technical and environmental communication, I try to stay engaged in local communities around these topics. In particular, I make an effort to learn about accessibility for my courses and to inform the content I teach. This includes designing content with accessibility in mind and asking students to do the same.
Additionally, I try to educate myself about the ecologies of my region. During my doctoral program, I took classes through Clemson Extension program to earn my SC Native Plant Certificate and SC Master Gardener certification. These programs not only taught me about the unique ecosystems in SC, but has connected me to local communities dedicated to the health of our area. Between research projects and teaching, you can find me trying to identify fern species, pointing out native ground cover, and learning about the rich ecologies of the North Florida. |
